The Top Five Traits of a Successful Salesperson

June 30, 2007

If you’re looking for a successful salesperson to hire, a salesperson who not only can sell but will sell, look for a salesperson with PRIDE.

PRIDE is an acronym for 5 characteristics that will help ensure that the salesperson you hire will get the job done for you and make the revenue results you desire a reality. PRIDE stands for:

? Proven ? Respectful ? Innovative ? Decisive ? Enthusiastic

Proven refers to the candidate’s track record. Have they delivered results? More importantly, who else says so besides them? As you know, resumes can be fact, or they can be fiction. How can you tell the difference?

A person who has been successful producing results should be able to provide you with third party proof. Have the candidate bring in their sales awards. Have them show you the stack-ranked sales reports showing their name at or near the top of the field.

More importantly, what do their customers have to say about them? Can the candidate produce testimonial letters from their customers, indicating they were satisfied with the buying experience? Candidates should be able to furnish written recommendations proving that they were able to deliver tangible results.

Your Marketing Message

June 29, 2007

Your message is first among your weapons in the battle of perceptions.

Your message allows you to accomplish many things. Your message can educate the masses, convert the non-believers or separate the wheat from the chaff. But not all three.

Your first clue to your message comes from where in the Awareness Scale? your target sits. (See my article titled “Target Your Market” for further discussion on the Awareness Scale?)

The Educational Target

The Educational Target needs the benefits of your type of service/product fully and carefully explained. Don’t spend time differentiating your company from your competition, there isn’t any. Instead, your target must have their awareness raised until they care.

The Doubter Target

The Doubter Target needs to have their objections overcome. You still must present the general benefits, but concentrate on overcoming the fears revealed in your research. Show how you deliver these benefits better than your competition. Your materials have a greater fight for attention here.

The Differentiation Target

Find The Time — Before Its Too Late!

June 29, 2007

People always seem to be in such a hurry, everywhere I go.

Always rushing to get to the next thing, as if someone is holding a stopwatch over their head, timing them to the second.

When I lived downtown I expected it, but here, nearly 50 miles from the city, I kind of thought life would be a little slower, and a little more forgiving.

Recently, on the Fourth of July, my neighbor was coming in late, around 9:30 in the evening, with her two children (who are just lovely, I might add). As usual she was rushing them along, trying to keep everything in order, and seemed as if she was held inches above the abyss by a very thin string.

Her children, of course, being children, had stopped to watch the fireworks display they were putting on at the park down the street. Her son, about three or four, kept saying, mommy, mommy, look at the fireworks! His voice had the excitement that only a four year old’s voice can contain.

She scooped him up quickly, and rushed him inside with a ‘come on, sweetie, it’s late,’ and never even turned for a moment to enjoy the wonderous display in the sky, not even for a couple of seconds.

“Who Do You Trust”? Who can you trust to give you the straight scoop here?

That brings us to Mark Warren. Mark, a young internet guru, is one of the very, very few “white hats” I know of in this field. Quite frankly, the crowd of so-called experts promoting get-rich-on-the Internet in various forms is mostly made up of liars, frauds and, at best, theorists. Not Mark. Among other things, he has helped a countless number of people create residual income on the internet and he himself has made millions of dollars online at the age of 22. Marks’s program, “Ultimate Wealth Package”, was the first online program to be verified legitimate by The Better Entrepreneurs Bureau. Mark has numerous clients, small and large, who ARE making money via Internet marketing, and he is a legitimate practitioner, and simply somebody who really knows what he’s talking about.

How to Create a Positive Work Atmosphere

June 25, 2007

Positive versus Negative Workplaces

We have all worked in places where we grew to dread getting up in the morning, and a few of us have had the pleasure of working for a boss who makes us feel like we can do anything. Let’s take a look at the differences between a positive and a negative work environment.

Signs of a Negative Work Environment

? The boss is unfriendly.

? The boss is critical.

? There is high employee turnover.

? There is low employee morale.

? People watch the clock.

? People don’t get much performance feedback.

Signs of a Positive Work Environment

? The boss demonstrates interest in the employees.

? The boss has an encouraging attitude.

? Employees like working there.

? There is evidence of company pride and loyalty.

? People know where they stand with their supervisors.

Thousands of books have been written on the subject of managing and motivating people, and as many training seminars are conducted on this subject around the world every day. And yet it’s interesting that even with all of this available information, few companies succeed at creating a positive work environment. Let’s see what’s involved.

A Quick Guide To Finding Reciprocal Links

June 24, 2007

Trading reciprocal links is one of the best ways to build traffic at your website. A reciprocal link is where two websites agree to host a link to each other on their websites. These usually are placed on a special, ‘links page’, but sometimes in articles or other areas.

Often, people have a hard time finding sites to exchange links with. The following is a guide to the practice.

1. Determine the profile of your target market. Who they are. What sort of things they like and do.

2. From this information, determine where these people would go on the net. What sites they would visit.

3. Visit these sorts of sites and decide on which ones to approach regarding exchanging links. (Some sites will be more promising than others. Some will attract more traffic, some a more suitable ‘class’ of traffic.) -Determine if they have a section for links. (There’s no point asking them to exchange links, if they don’t have a link section.)

4. Approach each site individually. Contact the webmaster, or if you can determine who this is, the person ‘in charge’ of the site. -You must visit the site first, and in the opening line of your e-mail, comment on some particular point about their site. This will help immediately diffuse the suspicion that your e-mail is another piece of spam.

Autoresponders Create Internet Business

Autoresponders Create Internet Business
 by: Robbie Fanucchi

Studies have shown that an average person needs to see an ad seven times before they are motivated to act. This could create quite a problem if you are relying on a website to promote your product. A potential customer visits your site, clicks on a few pages and leaves. The chances of that same customer returning to your website is quite slim. Your chance to make a sale is lost forever.

So how do savvy internet marketers avoid this problem? With the use of autoresponders. Autoresponders are used by practically everybody involved in ecommerce. Autoresponders allow you to follow up with a potential customer. Autoresponders do this automatically after you have set up your account.

How do autoresponders work? They allow you to send follow up messages to a potential customer after you gain their email address. You can continue to regularly contact that person for a year or even more if you feel like it. The benefit? Higher sales rates. Remember, a customer must be exposed to an ad over and over again before a sale is made.

Improve Your Self Confidence

June 23, 2007

Knowing yourself is the foundation of self-esteem, self confidence and personal development. Man has been seeking himself since the days of the Oracle of Delphi. “Know yourself” said the Oracle, but she spoke in riddles and the men who had come a long way to get a simple answer from her wise lips went away even more confused.

Yes, it isn’t easy to really understand a human being. And, to understand others, we need first of all to understand ourselves and to gain self-esteem and confidence.

How can we do this? There are ways to work on this and we can do it in the comfort of our home if we don’t want to attend evening courses in self confidence and self-esteem and meet others in similar situations.

Some tips: * Write down your positive achievements, all that you can remember; educations, jobs, loves and relationships (even if they ended, you still achieved them), friendships, children, driving licence… Look at what you already have and realize you have done rather well.

* Write down good things that others have said about you. Read through old documents from former employers or teachers that state all your strong sides. Maybe you forgot you had them?
